Donation protected
Hi, My name is Lindsay Vico, Im Auntie Lu to my sweet niece Adelaide. Adelaide's cancer battle continues, and I am starting the GO Fund Me for my amazing Sister Kati and her Wonderful Husband Ian. Please take a moment to read Adelaide's story.
Much Love,
Lindsay
In 2019, at 20 months old, Adelaide started her brave and heartbreaking journey of fighting stage 4 Neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive pediatric cancer. She has been the strongest little fighter we have ever known. Throughout this nasty fight, her parents, Kati and Ian, have had the emotional rollercoaster ride of a lifetime.
Adelaide had her first relapse in December 2020. As most know, a relapse is the most horrifying and scary diagnosis a parent and family can receive. Adelaide had to go through treatment for the 2nd time at 3 years old. Her last treatment was 10/1/2021
Adelaide was a candidate for a very hopeful clinical trial vaccine treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering and began this journey of traveling to NYC every 3 months for treatment for the next 5 years. Her most recent visit in New York was in July, just after baby brother Christian was born. She went in for her scans, per the program protocol and all was clear.
25 days after her clear scans, Adelaide began complaining of leg pain, and severely limped within a few days. After a trip to get some X-rays, the horrible news was confirmed, they found a spot on her leg. On 9/19/2022, we found out that Adelaide‘s cancer had come back. They quickly removed the tumor from her leg, and filled the spot in with cement. However, a relapse was confirmed. Adelaide had her port put back in on 9/26/22 after only a few short months of getting it removed. She will begin her chemo treatment on 10/6/2022.
Adelaide is still the rockstar we know her to be! Lover of everything dinosaur and rainbows! She absolutely LOVES her baby brother Christian. Before her recent diagnosis, she was thriving in preschool, gymnastics and swimming all of which have now been put on hold.
Kati and Ian are in the fight of their life with their baby girl, this being her second relapse, with each relapse becoming more difficult to treat and even more difficult to cure. Treatment is a full-time job. Adelaide needs someone with her 24/7. Between medical bills, a hectic travel schedule (the gas alone!), medications, and new baby Christian, they can use all the help they can get. We are so fortunate to have such a supportive and loving community any help is beyond appreciated.
I know we have a huge support system and a massive outpouring of love. Please keep Adelaide, Kati, Ian & baby Christian in your prayers
We will be having a fundraiser on Nov 13 Wise Girl in Pleasant Hill that will be family-friendly. Please SAVE THE DATE!
