Adeline Caradonna’s SickKids Adventure

On August 26th, 2023 my daughter Karlie and her partner Nick, were overjoyed with the birth of their beautiful daughter Adeline. As all new parents are, they were excited and anxious to bring their new daughter home and start their time together as a new family. This unfortunately is not the experience they had.

From the moment of birth little Adeline was placed on a CPAP machine and was examined for an unknown airway obstruction. It was later discovered that Adeline’s difficulty with breathing came from an underdeveloped jaw causing her airway to be partially blocked. These new parents were also informed that their newborn daughter also had a heart defect and is going through the process of genetic testing.

So rather than getting to go home and spend time as a family, these new parents had to try and pack what they could and are now staying in Toronto, while their daughter is admitted at SickKids hospital, for an unknown length of time. This has resulted in unforeseen expenses, that these new parents who are now unable to work, were not prepared for.

I have created this go fund me with the intention to raise money for these expenses such as travel, accommodations, parking, and food, that they will now need to cover on top of their normal rent and bills.
