Adeline needs eye surgery ASAP
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Miranda and I am asking for donations on behalf of my cousins, Keith Milliken and Jillian Brunk’s baby girl, Adeline Grace. She was diagnosed in October and they found out she is blind in her right eye and it is progressing and affecting her left eye now. Addy is the sweetest 2 year old you will ever meet and needs surgery on both eyes ASAP. Her new insurance isn't active yet so mom and dad will be paying out of pocket and the first surgery is $6,000. Please keep them and their little family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate the roads ahead. Ihave included the timeline of updates along the way from Jillian below.
October 16-
Please say a prayer for Adeline. It has been a very long day and night, she was admitted to the hospital yesterday. So far we have one diagnosis(luckily surgery will correct) and a lot of attention as everyone was interested in her symptoms. Today they will sedate her for an MRI to get a better scan of her brain, hopefully they find nothing and we stick with the first diagnosis. She has been her normal super sweet and loving self, she lets them poke and look at her with no fuss, she really is the sweetest Addy❤️
October 17-
Good news, Adeline’s final scan came back and negative for neuroblastoma so she can go home today at some point lol waiting for the geneticist!! She is blind in her right eye and has cataracts on both eyes with nystagmus in her right eye. We will follow up with out patient ophthalmologist for surgery. She should be fixed up in the upcoming months❤️ Thank you to everyone who prayed for Addy and for reaching out. Obviously it’s not normal for a 2 year old to have what she has so we are doing everything to get her fixed up❤️
October 25-
Addy update All Children’s called yesterday and wanted her down to see the ophthalmologist today. Dad took her and she did so good and was her patient little self. Surgery will be soon starting with her right eye, glasses the rest of her life once surgeries are done. And hopefully no major issues through life but that's unknown. She will be the cutest little Adeline with glasses. Sadly now that we are aware we see her not being able to see us or object’s but amazing how she compensates for having no vision on the right and limited on the left ❤️
November 9-
Adeline update: her eyes have gotten worse, the nystagmus is now in her left eye and it is constant and way more pro dominant than it was to begin with. Pretty much her eyes are constantly moving all over the place non stop. It seems like over the last week to have worsened. We have opted to do her first surgery as soon as possible and not wait for her new insurance to kick in in January, we will pay out of pocket. I have been on the phone all day with different individuals from All Children’s trying to work out the details. Hopefully we have a date and time for surgery tomorrow. Her surgery for her left eye has to be done at a later time so we will work that out later. The hardest thing in the world is to have a healthy child turn in a moment and go downhill. We will do whatever and spend whatever to get her what she needs. Her behavior has also started to be affected by her frustrations. She is too small to verbalize her emotions and I can’t imagine how hard it is for her. We love our Adeline Grace and will hopefully be getting her some visual improvement and relief soon. Thank you to everyone who has continued to reach out and message me to check on her.
