ADIFF Emergency Masks for Hospitals
Donation protected
Help us cover the production cost to produce 1000 masks for donations at hospitals in NYC!
We have rapidly developed a two-layer fabric face mask made from washable organic cotton at our facility in Greece. We are raising money to cover the cost of producing these for local hospitals in NYC, who are desperately in need of protective equipment.
Governor Cuomo says that NYC will run out of all surgical masks within only a matter of weeks, and fabric masks can help in several ways:
1) they reduce the possibility of touching your face/mouth/nose and contracting the virus
2) within hospitals, they can be worn by lower risk workers, preserving N95 or surgical masks for providers who need them most
3) they can serve as a reusable, washable protective cover for surgical masks, which must be thrown away once they are soiled or wet (many health workers have had to reuse surgical masks due to the low supply)
The CDC has said that if the supply of N95 masks runs out completely, front line healthcare workers should wear fabric masks for patient care in tandem with a face shield. Basically - it's better to be wearing a fabric mask, than wearing nothing at all.
We have been selling these masks on our website at cost for our community, in order to continue providing salaries for our production team, who are all resettled refugees. We would love to donate these masks to local hospitals but need to cover the cost of labor and materials.
You can also purchase a mask for yourself here: https://adiff.com/collections/accessories/products/emergency-mask
