Adopt It Forward

We are excited to announce that our family is growing by one. We are adopting! Future baby Suggs is due the first week of August.

This fundraiser is about raising money to help bring our baby home and so much more.

Domestic adoption can be a costly endeavor. Our total cost will be about $55,000. There are lawyer fees, agency fees, care for the mother, travel costs, etc. It adds up quickly.

We are going to pay $20,000 of our own expenses and are looking for $35,000 to cover our remaining costs.  Any proceeds raised above $35,000 we will donate to our local church's charity Orphan Care .  Orphan Care works with many different partners to help provide care and support to orphans, locally and around the world.

Our Story

Baby number 3 has been in the works for many years. Through infertility issues and miscarriages our plan kept being derailed. Fall of 2017 was the first serious mention of adoption. During that time we witnessed other adoption stories unfolding before our eyes. But still, the journey seemed too expensive and too far out of reach. We were still no closer to our dreams of becoming a family of 5. Then in December of 2017, we miscarried again. This loss left us shaken and unsure of where to go. Through prayer and reflection the answer became more obvious than ever...adoption. Starting in January of this year, our official journey began. By April our home study was complete.  On June 24th, we found out we matched with a birth-mother due in August. We were shocked...kinda like finding out you are pregnant, except in our case it was like finding out you are seven and a half months pregnant. We are so excited that our journey is about to take the next steps, and we'll soon bring baby Suggs home.

What if...

Three "what ifs", three sweet souls, that were tiny heart beats. Three babies that never breathed a breath. Three that reside in Heaven above. Three "what ifs" that touched my life and changed my journey.

Dreams of what if they grew, what if they came, what if they cried. All "what if" dreams of blessed little ones.

But what if, I never had my "what ifs"...

There would have been no heart ache, no tears of sorrow, no journey to God, and no prayers for a baby. A baby that is my "meant to be".

It is meant to be you; God whispered in my life. A baby for our family, it's meant to be you. Prayers and preparation as we wait for our time, it's meant to be you our "meant to be". You are the one that I have been waiting for all these years, our precious "meant to be", an answered prayer from our Lord above. As He holds my "what ifs", He sent the most perfect gift, our "meant to be". As He whispered your life into the womb; He whispered love into my heart. I thank God everyday for my "what ifs" because they led me to you.

It is just meant to be.
