We were blessed to hold her at the hospital on the day she was born, and each day after … until we were blessed to bring her home.
What was supposed to be a temporary week long placement eventually turned into months … and then into a permanent legal guardianship. Now, after two years - of blending families, and of our family loving baby girl as if she was our own - her biological mother has selflessly asked us to move forward with open adopting her.
After much prayer and careful consideration, and after many conversations with Maci’s biological family and ours, we’ve decided that now is the time!
As it turns out though, adopting a child can be quite expensive … and we find ourselves in the difficult (and very humbling) position of reaching out to you - our family and friends - to ask for help.
Please know that first and foremost your support, encouragement, and prayers would mean the world to us, and are enough! Truly.
But IF you feel called and have the means, any financial contribution - no matter how big or small - would be such a blessing to us in helping to cover attorney’s fees, costs associated with the upcoming home study, ongoing communications with Maci’s biological mother throughout the adoption process, etc.
As they say, raising a child takes a village. Never have we felt this more!
