Adopting Our Princess Aly

Our names are Melissa and Alex, we are newly married, and soon to be official parents of a little girl who lights up our whole world!
Well, in August of 2013, our lives were forever changed. I (Melissa) was taking classes at our local community college, and living at home when my mom said "yes" to becoming a foster parent for a 5 week old baby girl. We were told that she would live with us for a short period of time (3-4 months max) while her birth parents got help, and took care of some issues. My mom and I were beyond excited to have a teeny tiny baby to take care of, and Alex was smitten from the first time he met her.
Things didn't quite go as we expected.
Before we knew it we were celebrating her first birthday, and watching her learn to walk. We fell more in love with our sweet Alyson everyday!
Alex and I were engaged and married, and of course she was the cutest little flower girl! Somewhere in that mix of time my mom received temporary custody, and also moved to Alabama. Alyson lived with her in Alabama for about a month while Alex and I got situated here in NC as newlyweds.
Then we made the decision that we couldn't live without Aly. This little girl that changed our lives for the better, and had brought so much joy and love to our lives...we needed her just as much as she needed us!
That brings us to today, we are nearing one year of marriage and we are more than ready to officially adopt our Aly girl! Unfortunately, we have quite a few legal hoops to jump through as this definitely isn't your typical adoption story. Currently, finances are the only thing holding us back from starting this process, and this is why we're graciously asking for your help. Whether it be a donation, a share, or a prayer, we can't thank you enough! We know the Lord didn't bring us this far to just leave us hanging, and we trust that He will provide for us in one way or another!
