Adreana, A Young Educator's Road to Recovery

Hi, my name is Christopher Zackery, and I am fundraising for my niece Adreana Swanson. Around 2:30 AM on Saturday 8/20/22, Adreana was home with her Mom in Riverdale, GA, where the home was firebombed by what investigators have declared an act of terror performed by an arsonist. The firebombs were thrown directly in my niece's room and the window below. Adreana woke up to her room full of fire and immediately ran to save her mother while she was in flames. Her mother, which is my sister, Adrienne Zackery, quickly helped Adreana into the shower. Adreana successfully got herself and her mother out of their home.

Due to this senseless act of violence, everything is touch and go as my niece is suffering third-degree burns over her face and body. She is still currently hospitalized. She has undergone the first of many surgeries which was on Monday 8/22/22 and continues to receive physical and occupational therapy.

My niece is a brilliant and upbeat individual who graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of West Georgia, in only three years. She is currently in her second semester of graduate school and had just begun teaching at Lovejoy High School in Clayton County. This is a horrific tragedy that none of us ever expected for Adreana nor my sister to experience.
