Raise Funds For Adriana Reyes Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is in place to honor Adriana Reyes, yet another life lost too soon to gun violence. In August 2015, Adriana was shot and killed by bullets drawn from the gun of security guards at a liquor store on Chicago’s west side.

At that point, Adriana was just 11 days away from turning 21 and lost the opportunity to live a full life.

In honor of the seventh year anniversary of Adriana's passing, her cousin Miranda Perez, a 23-year-old journalist and first-generation college graduate, is hoping to offer the opportunity for those impacted by gun violence to live a full life by granting them the finances to do so.

This scholarship is for students in 11th grade and onward. It doesn’t matter if you are in the process of choosing a college to go to or preparing to get your Ph.D.; if this award can help you in any way, please apply.

Miranda’s goal is for this scholarship for one student to be awarded $500 brought together by a community fundraising effort on GoFundMe. If donations surpass $500, the winning student’s award will increase (which is even better for them! <3).

Update: In less 5 hours, we surpassed our $500 goal! I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. In 3 days, we were able to pull together $1,000 and have enough funds to award two students scholarships. As of 8/24/22, we are going to now TRIPLE this goal to $1,500 to award 3 students with a $500 scholarship. Thank you endlessly for all of the support!!
