Looking for Support for My College Dream
Donation protected
Hello Everyone!
My name is Adrian Vega-Albela Osorio, and I am getting ready to enter my first year of college at USC. I've worked hard and been blessed with an acceptance to my dream school, where I intend to pursue my passion for filmmaking at the best school to do so, and am excited to keep working hard to reach my professional goals. I am a couple of months away from my first day of classes, but I am in the unfortunate situation where financing my education has become tougher than I ever imagined, for reasons that have been out of my control.
I was born in Mexico City, and moved to the USA in 2003, and have lived in San Diego county since. The last 11 years have been a rollercoaster both emotionally and financially for my family, having gone through financial success to bankrupcy and unemployment, to the point where I focused my high school career to build up a portfolio that could reward me financially when the time came for me to go off to College.
Unfortunately, I never thought that it would be so hard to find that support because of the bureaucratic situation that my family is currently in.
In High School, I worked relentlessly to both find academic success and a passion to pursue. In the last four years, I achieved becoming my school's ASB president, I played Varsity soccer for four years as co-captain of the team, maintained a 4.4 Gpa, took all Honors classes, and was president of three school clubs & organizations. I dedicated hundreds of hours to serve my community and my school, and always put my academics first.
Unfortunately, as I finished my senior year and looked into the future, I realized that I wasn't eligible to recieve any financial support from the government, my school, nor most third parties, until the beaurocratic situation my family is in is resolved. It has been a really tough journey to see these opportunities be denied to me for reasons that I haven't been able to control.
As it stands now, it seems that in the next three/four months, the situation may be resolved, allowing me to seek opportunities for both scholarships and financial support for my second semester of college that I haven't been able to have access to prior.
With all of this going on, I am currently looking at having to pay my first semester of tuition at USC in full, and am in need of any support I can get in order to start my college career this Fall.
It's incredibly hard for me to write this, and to have reached the point where I am reaching out for any support I can get, but I am so grateful for all of the support I have recieved in getting to where I am now, and am stretching out my hand in need of help to get past this incredibly difficult situation.
With this said, I am humbly asking for any support that can be given, whether it be financial or just by sharing this page with any friends or family. I am so thankful for everybody that has helped me thus far, and promise to use every ounce of support I recieve to its fullest. Also, to show my gratitude, for every donor that graciously provides any support whatsoever, I promise to include his/her name in a Thank You in a future project of mine, for I hope to make beautiful films that will touch and inspire the public in the way that my favorite filmmakers have inspired me.

Thank you so much for your support- words can't explain how much this all means to me.
