A NEW UPDATE ON OUR FAMILY'S JOURNEY... 11 DAYS IN!! - Saturday, January 18, 2025
Thank you for the continued outpouring of love and support you've given to our family through their unfathomable journey! Your encouragement and support continue to move them forward. As of yesterday, they finally secured temporary housing! A place of respite; to collect their thoughts and emotional losses to redefine their future. They still have a long road ahead of them. Again, thank you for helping them move forward inch by inch. By continuing to share this post, we can keep the momentum going!
UPDATE: Monday, January 13, 2025. As I look at this gofundme account, I am in awe of the incredible outpouring of love and support you have given to Adrienne and BJ. What a blessing all of you are! They've been in a hotel for a week and they are hoping to secure housing. Unfortunately, tens of thousands of people are in the same position, which means lines for assistance are long, the resources and supplies are scarce and emotions are high. They have a long road ahead of them. With your help of sharing their story and the continued generosity of others, we are confident they can begin the daunting burden of restoring their lives. Each and every one of you have helped lessen the sting of what they've lost and we are forever grateful. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you!!
Original post : Tuesday, January 9th. It's with a very heavy heart that I write this. Our daughter, Adrienne Booth McDonnell and her husband, BJ McDonnell experienced the unfathomable, life changing event of the Pacific Palisades fire. Their home, once a picturesque view of peace, safety, contentment and memories have become the reality of a burned out pile of rubble and ash. There was no time! ....... Escaping with their lives, their animals and only the clothes on their backs, their lives have become the reality of complete displacement. They have lost their home, their neighborhood, their community. Their bank, gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants...everything familiar and convenient... Gone! Clothes, cars, medicines, common things like hairbrush, soaps... things that we reach for without thinking about... GONE! Family, friends and total strangers have asked what they can do to help. It was suggested to have an Amazon party where people could send much needed items. They have no home, no address. The only thing I know to do is to start a GoFundMe account to help them begin the monumental task of rebuilding...physically and emotionally. The grief and loss are unimaginable. If you feel compelled to help, any amount of blessing would be extremely helpful. Thank you.
