8/18/24 ADRYANA'S PRAYER
“Heavenly Father, you have created and walked with me throughout my life. Some days, seeing Your presence and knowing Your love is straightforward. On other days, I must search for the more subtle signs of Your love and presence in my life. Open my eyes to Your marvelous gifts and lead me to give You thanks and praise always.
Jesus, my Savior and Lord thank You for showing me how much I am loved. You carry my Cross with me each day, ready to bring me Your Father’s peace.
Holy Spirit, fill me with thankfulness for all God puts in my life. Give me the eyes that can see all the blessings I receive each day and a heart that never ceases to marvel at God’s wonder.
Dear Lord, I seek Your guidance and strength in this moment of struggle. I entrust my life into Your hands and ask for Your healing touch to be upon me. May Your love and grace comfort me as I face this battle.
In the name of Jesus, my Savior, I pray, Amen” – Adryana Aldeen.

Adryana Aldeen has had a recent recurrence of Pancreatic Cancer Stage, which is now in Stage IV. In October 2022, a PET scan showed recurrence with metastasis in her right lung and the Virchow Node close to the neck. She had surgery on November 25, 2022, to remove two tumors in the Virchow node, which were sent to a specific mutations study with Foundation 1 CDX; she has received more chemotherapy treatments and is open to trying integrative medicine treatments to continue fighting for her life.
Adryana and Doug Aldeen are overwhelmed by the cost of Medical Cancer care. The financial toxicity of cancer treatment, surgeries, more chemotherapies, and all medical-related expenses have impacted their lives. Your prayers and financial support are appreciated.
Many of you remember that Adryana was diagnosed first with Stage III Pancreatic Cancer in late Fall 2020. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, she voluntarily left aside her role as a political commentator and consultant to focus on her health. After medical treatment and invasive surgery - a distal pancreatectomy/splenectomy - where two-thirds of the pancreas, the spleen, and the malignant tumor were removed, she miraculously survived 16 months with NED (No evidence of disease.) In October of 2022, as we mentioned, her cancer recurred. She has endured many painful and draining treatments for the terminal illness.
For those unaware, what Adryana had when diagnosed two years ago (late September of 2020) was called pancreatic adenocarcinoma, a nasty one. She was given six months to live, as the tumor was entangled in her central veins -which is why the cancer was unresectable (a tumor that cannot be removed through Surgery.) Miraculously, after Adryana vigorously fought for eleven months, the cancer tumor shrunk enough to qualify for Surgery; on June 14th, 2021, Adryana underwent a very invasive surgery, an open distal pancreatectomy/splenectomy. The surgery was exceedingly difficult and very painful. Still, it successfully removed the fibrosis of the cancer tumor left after all the treatments. The excellent surgeon removed two-thirds of her pancreas, so she has been on the border to become a person with type I diabetes. The surgeon also removed the spleen, so she is more likely to contract severe or life-threatening infections and has to receive several vaccinations. In addition, Adryana has re-taught her body how to digest food since her digestive tract was readjusted during the surgery, and she takes expensive enzymes to replace pancreatic function for the rest of her life.
When Adryana had no evidence of disease, sought a place to serve her community in Austin. She became Director of Advancement with Mariposa Family Learning Center. This nonprofit organization helps low-income children and families receive child care in Montopolis in southeast Austin.
After her recurrence she resign from her duties as Director of Advancement and went back to political analysis, but continue helping Mariposa Learning Center as she has a deep heart fort the children and families in need.
