Ads-Up COVID-19 Refugee Response Fund
Donation protected
The Ads-Up Refugee Network is experiencing a major strain on our resources as we assist the 700+ Manus and Nauru refugees who have been transferred to the USA, now the world's coronavirus epicenter.
It's a brutal time to arrive in America with no job, no friends and no support network. We've mobilized Aussie volunteers across the United States to make sure everyone has support, but we need your help so we can help cover crucial medical and dental costs and other essentials.
If you are able, please consider a contribution of $40, $80 or $250 USD to make sure we have the resources we’ll need to help make sure no one falls through the cracks as America confronts this massive health and economic crisis.
** All donations processed in US Dollars **
Newly arrived refugees are truly on the front lines of the Coronavirus crisis, and dozens are still arriving to cities which are now re-entering lockdown. With most living paycheck-to-paycheck in minimum wage jobs, earlier arrivals were among the first to lose their jobs as the economic crisis hit.
Making matters worse, many recent arrivals aren’t eligible for stimulus checks or unemployment support, and a number of refugees we support have underlying heart and lung problems, exacerbated by their years in unlawful Australian detention.
We're working hard to make sure everyone has the basic food, shelter and health advice they need. We're providing targeted emergency financial assistance and delivering direct, accurate advice on risk levels and government support programs.
Please chip in now so we can keep up this support for the duration of this crisis >>
Together, we've recruited over 50 new volunteers for a COVID-19 response team, helping over 100 individuals navigate the crisis and apply for emergency support.
Thanks to your donations, we've sent groceries to vulnerable refugees across the US and have helped with emergency rental payments to ensure all families have a secure roof over their heads.

Reports show the Coronavirus crisis is hitting poorer communities and immigrant communities significantly harder than anyone else in the US, in both terms of both health and economic impacts. That matches what we're seeing on the ground, which is why we're so grateful for every donor and volunteer who is stepping up to meet the moment.
We're so proud and thankful for all the everyday Aussies around the world who are stepping up to provide support where the government has failed – we couldn't do this without you.
Who are we?
We're a network of Aussies in the United States who have been working since May 2018 to support hundreds of refugees arriving from PNG and Nauru under the still ongoing Australian-US refugee deal. We've been profiled by the Sydney Morning Herald and other outlets for our work in the United States and in Canada. For more about us, visit our general fundraiser or our website: www.ads-up.org
