Rick's celebration of life
Ricky Wayne Kasten, 71, of Loveland passed away July 5th, 2021 due to complications from a home accident and his battle with COPD. Rick was born on June 23rd 1950, in Loveland to Gerald and Elvera Kasten. He was a 1968 Loveland High School graduate. He married Anita Huwig in 1971. They later divorced. Rick owned and operated Pasco for several years and later Bunny’s Pizzeria that is fondly remembered by many Berthoud residents.
Rick had a parallel career for the past 35 plus years as a National judge and Head Judge for the NPC, judging fitness and bodybuilding competitions in cities from coast to coast. He was recently named Co Chairman of Colorado and was also the Chairman for events staged in Wyoming and Nebraska. Competitors respected him for his fairness, encouragement and willingness to share insights into improving their competitive advantage.
His many friends loved Rick for his upbeat personality, sense of humor and generosity. He was a devoted father and grandfather and leaves a void in the hearts of his family and friends.
Rick is survived by his mother, Elvera, sister Cindy Davis, son Jas, and daughter Lacy Howell, all of Loveland; and grandchildren, Lane Kasten, Kiley Kasten and Ashlin Howell. He was proceeded in death by his father Gerald and brother Robby.
Celebration of life will be Monday July 19th at 1pm at Viegut Funeral Home, 1616 N. Lincoln avenue Loveland, Co 80538. There will be a reception to follow.
