This is Adyson’s story, written from her brother Colton Bryce.

Dear Family, friends, and kind-hearted strangers,
On Tuesday, November 7th, 2023, our lives took an unforeseen and heart-wrenching turn when my sister Adyson and her boyfriend Evan set out for a day of hunting on our property. They entrusted their ten-week-old puppy Simba to my care, oblivious to the tragic events that awaited them.
As they ascended the double ladder stand, anticipation filled the air. However, fate had different plans. As they were settling into the tree stand they heard a terrible sound and the stand collapsed from underneath them. The fall sent them on an unexpected descent of fifteen feet to the ground below. While Evan emerged physically unscathed, Adyson lay there, with no ability to move her limbs accompanied by very shallow breathing.
Evan raced to our home for help, covering the two-hundred-yard distance twice in desperate urgency. I rushed to the scene on our ATV, immediately dialing 911. First responders arrived swiftly, and Adyson was airlifted to Hurley Medical Center. A diagnosis revealed a cervical fracture causing a severe spinal cord injury, necessitating emergency surgery to alleviate the pressure on her spinal cord. Thanks to the swift response and skill of the medical team, her seven hour surgery was started within a very short time of her arrival at Hurley.
Adyson is a 2019 Frankenmuth High School graduate and 2023 graduate of Delta College. She earned her Associates in Science in Surgical Technology. She started her new career at a job she loved with Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw. She particularly loved participating in orthopedic cases. Despite loving her new career she also continued her previous employment at Buffalo Wild Wings. A job she couldn’t bear to give up due to the fast paced environment and long lasting friendships she had made. She worked there as a server on the weekends. She was part of the marketing team with Buffalo Wild Wings and participated in several fundraising activities through this team, which she found great enjoyment in.
She has always shown an unparalleled work ethic and a perpetual smile. If she isn’t working she is busy doing home improvement projects or caring for her many animals. Adyson is one of the most selfless and kind people you could ever meet. She is determined, motivated, and always willing to lend a helping hand.
June marked the beginning of Adyson and Evan's love story. They moved into Evan's home, creating a haven filled with a golden retriever puppy, chickens, two cats, ducks and a turtle. Together, they embraced the joys of renovating their home, planning a future brimming with possibilities, attending concerts, and reveling in the company of friends and family, but mostly each other.

This life altering event for Adyson has left her currently with the inability to move her legs or hands. Adyson faces the formidable challenge of rehabilitation to try and regain some control over her broken body and her extremities. The journey of rehabilitation is expected to span several months to a year. My mom and Evan will be at Mary Free Bed in Grand Rapids, standing by her side, offering unwavering support through this arduous process. As we embark on this uncertain and sorrowful path, your prayers and any form of support, be it moral or financial, will be a glimmer of hope for Adyson. Every gesture, every donation, will directly contribute to her well-being, carrying the weight of our collective belief that, with faith and solidarity, the road ahead will lead to the best possible outcome.
While nobody likes to ask for financial donations, the simple truth is that to give Adyson the best chance at recovery, we want to pursue the best options available. Unfortunately this will come at great expense.
The attached go-fund me will give entirely to her direct recovery.
Please pray for Adyson and our family as all things are possible with Christ.
