On June 9, 2014 my son Lukas, a young man of just 22 years of age, was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma - a rare primary bone cancer that often targets children, teenagers, and young adults.
As I’m writing this Lukas is only two days into his chemotherapy. It breaks my heart, but after only a short 48 hours of treatment, I’ve never seen my son so sick. Lukas needs your help through what will in all probability be the hardest journey of his life.
Lukas’ treatment plan is as follows:
1) Nine weeks of chemotherapy
2) Surgery to remove the tumor in his knee
3) Nine weeks of chemotherapy

In a perfect world Lukas’ treatment would give him a clean bill of health in just six months. But we all know that cancer often isn’t that easy. Lukas is in a fight for his life, and will be unable to work for at least a year in all likelihood.
During this time Lukas will need to pay for his living expenses, over $30,000 owed in student loans, and substantial medical expenses.

With only four courses left in my son’s biochemistry degree, he has had to put his life on hold, and begin a battle for his life. Help my son come back from this and finish his degree a stronger man mentally, physically, and emotionally.
