AED Purchase (Defibrillator)
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Kelly and I run Growing Up Green Family Day Care. I offer care for the children of local families and after recently completing my annual first aid training, I really felt compelled to try and have an AED accessible in my service. Having many visitors and children in my care, plus a backyard pool, it is one more first aid item I feel would be extremely beneficial....... you just never know.
Over 30,000 Australians suffer from sudden cardiac arrest each year. As little as 5% survive without an automated external defibrillator (AED).
So, when sudden cardiac arrest strikes, a defibrillator really can determine the difference between life and death. In fact, when a defibrillator is used before paramedics arrive, the chance of survival can reach as high as 70%.
Many people underestimate the value of defibrillators - and while they should be located in both public and private spaces, the scary part is that they’re not. It currently isn’t mandatory for defibrillators to be accessible in public or high-risk areas.
Thank you for reading and donating to help us purchase an AED.
