Fighting Cancer

UPDATE: AS OF FEB. 5, 2024. I RECEIVED THE RESULTS THAT MY LEVELS HAVE COME DOWN TO NORMAL. WE DID NOT EXPECT THIS... THE STAFF AND DOCTORS DID NOT EXPECT THIS, AND FRANKLY ITS A MIRACLE. WE WERE DOING THE TEST TO SEE WHERE MY LEVELS WERE TO DECIDE WHAT TREATMENT TO SWITCH TO AND IT CAME BACK COMPLETELY UNEXPECTEDLY CANCER FREE. IM NOT OUT OF THE WOODS YET. I HAVE AT VERY LEAST ABOUT ANOTHER MONTH IN THE HOSPITAL WITH A MINIMUM OF 3 CHEMO TREATMENTS LEFT. MY OUTSIDE LIFE AND SITUATION HAS STILL NOT CHANGED, BUT IT DOES LOOK LIKE IM GOING TO CONTINUE TO ACTUALLY HAVE A LIFE!

Hello my name is Kayla.. I'm 32 years old and I have been in and out of the hospital for the last 7months... I had a molar pregnancy back in 2020 which caused me to lose my son.. I weighed 130 and dropped down to 90lbs in 16wks my HCG levels were in the hundred thousands way too high for a pregnancy... I had to go get my blood drawn once a week to check my HCG levels and make sure they were dropping after my second DNC because they didn't get all the tumor out the first time... as the weeks went by my HCG levels were dropping... It started last year that I started to have false pregnancy tests.. they would do ultrasounds and there weren't any signs of a baby.. here we are 2yrs later... I went to the ER 5 different times because for 2 months straight I puked 24/7 and couldn't keep anything down nor could I do anything my body was so weak.. on July 9th I went to a completely different ER and explained to them everything that was going on so they ran all kinds of tests and scans and then all of sudden I was surprised with being told I have cancer called Choriocarcinoma which means it's a cancerous tumor that forms inside a pregnant woman's uterus. Choriocarcinomas usually occur when growths from molar pregnancies turn cancerous and unfortunately its advanced in my lungs, brain, and spine. I also have two tumors that have formed under my arm and in my vaginal area...I also had two IVs blow and left me getting blood clots where they blew one on my left and one on the right good news is my body will absorb them so I won't need surgery for that... unfortunately my right arm blood clot is needing to be treated with blood thinners... I am also getting a blood transfusion due to my white blood cells being extremely low...of course like any cancer or tumor they could pop up at any moment if not treated correctly..we just found out that some of the spots on my brain are bleeding not bad but they are bleeding. So we had to postpone full blown chemo and start radiation next week then try full blown chemo on Friday.... So I have finished radiation and pray to start chemo on 8/4/23...There's 85% chance I can beat this but there is always that percentage it may not cure it all and of course it could always come back... We are blessed with anything we get rather it be prayers, a penny, or $100 either way we are grateful with what we get!!
