Aegon London Charity Committee Bridge Walk

In 2022 the London Charity Committee partnered with the Lister Neonatal Families Group to help raise money to revamp their family rooms for parents to use when they have premature or very sick babies in the unit.

At the moment the rooms are similar to the picture above and not very welcoming and will not give much comfort to parents who need to use them to be close to their babies.

Through various fund raising we have already given them £5,350 but costs in the region of around £15,000 to transform a room so they can feel more homely, warm and comfortable for our parents. Those funds could help us lay new flooring, hang nice wallpaper, install fresh blinds, add new lighting and provide a fridge, side table and wardrobe. The bathroom will also have new flooring, panelling and sanitaryware. All furniture and refurbishment will need to meet clinical standards, but will feel much more welcoming and homely and hopefully give the parents some comfort while away from home.

On 15th September a group of us from the Aegon London office are going to walk across 12 bridges from the Albert Bridge down to the Tower and hoping to get sponsorship from our colleagues, friends and family.

All support will be greatly appreciated and all money raised will be double matched by Aegon.
