AFF Women's National Team Fund
Donation protected
Soccer Without Borders and the Afghanistan Women's National Football Team have now joined forces to grow an even bigger fundraising campaign that is tax-deductible for its contributors. This new campaign facilitates the receipt of funds and direct use by the team's staff for booking travel via Soccer Without Border's resources and benefits both the team and supports by providing transparency on all contributions. We are very excited to launch this campaign and partnership and look forward to spreading the great news.

Our Story:
The Afghanistan Women's Football Committee with collaboration of the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF), is inviting talented Afghan players, who are actively playing around the world, to tryout and become a part of the Women's National Football Team. The AFF recently made an announcement through social media, requesting that players contact us and send us their playing resumes and highlight footage. Upon review of those materials, the Committee will call in the players to participate in a mini-camp/tournament, to take place in Europe this summer.
Following that mini-camp, an AFF delegation will select the best players to participate in a follow-on camp and tournament in United States in September. The mini-camp will involve multiple matches against women's clubs in the U.S. at the ECNL, NPL and WPSL levels. The AFF delegation will choose the best players from that tournament to join the player pool for the National Team. Meanwhile, AFF will also be reviewing and selecting players from the Afghanistan Women’s League to also join this pool.
Upon pool selection, the team will travel to Hong Kong for a ten-day training camp with Kelly Lindsey at the Major League Soccer Academy. Immediately following the conclusion of that camp, the team will compete in the South Asian Games, hosted by the Maldives, in December/January.
Our official partners for 2016 include hummel International (our kit provider) and West Coast Goalkeeping to provide gloves for our Goalkeepers. The amount of resources both of these companies have invested in the Afghanistan Women's Football Team have been above and beyond and we are incredibly thankful for their support.
What we will still need financial assistance with is support lodging, meals, and transportation en route to the multiple camps and while in the United States in September. All funds donated will go directly to cover these expenses for the 20-25 players selected to participate in the U.S. and Hong Kong training camps.
If you'd like to learn more about the program, please check out the link below which provides an overview of our recent kit launch by hummel International and tells the story of our former Captain, Khalida Popal.
Thank you for your support and helping to empower women through sports!
