Afghan Children's College Fund

My name is Kevin O'Meara and I am a US Navy Pediatrician. I was deployed to Pakistan in 2003 and I worked at Walter Reed with the rapid onslaught of Afghan migrants in July and August of 2021. Then I spent most of 2022 in Qatar taking care of Afghan children, Thousands of children. Now I would like to establish a college fund for those Afghan children I cared for in the camp and at Walter Reed. None of this money goes to me or any administrator. We just want successful kids who can change the world. Good future American Citizens. The picture is present because GoFundMe's website would not allow me to upload pictures of the actual Afghans despite meeting the size and format requirements.

08/2023 - Well we have raised enough to become a 501(c)(3). Raising $200,000 will give an indefinitely sustainable scholarship of $5000 per year to 2 children. More than that, we can help more future American citizens.

09/2023 - I want to thank the folks who have donated via Venmo - Especially my US Military colleagues from Camp As Sayliyah/Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar - who know my Venmo account. We have more than enough to get things started. Now comes the job of building a base of financial support to create a sustainable college scholarship fund. We will need your friends support. People whos' lives and deployments were made better by the support of these Afghan - American Allies now fleeing and resettling in the US. So far, funds are mostly from my Military Colleagues - people who worked with Afghan's and the children/Families at this point. I'm looking forward to expanding it to the people who's lives were made better or even saved by our native Afghan Allies on the ground in Afghanistan. Please share and let us build and educate great US Citizens for the future. Citizens whose parents helped us in tough situations after an attack on the USA.
