AFGHAN FAMILY IN NEED OF URGENT SUPPORT

To briefly recap, I am an advocate for empowering young women across the globe, especially those from marginalized areas. I met a powerful young Afghan woman in 2016 when I was volunteering for aiwr.org, teaching her English so she might qualify for University one day. She was 16 at the time. In July, 2021 she realized her dream of getting formally educated and was accepted into University. When the Taliban took over in 2020, this young woman and her family reached out to me for help to try to escape from their country as they were in grave danger due to their public social activism efforts. For 2 1/2 years I have been working on getting them safely out by means of Humanitarian Parole applications. To date they have not been adjudicated.

Through exhaustive conversations with this family, we have developed a valid alternative plan for their escape to another country. The risks of getting over the border alive are enormous, however, for them to remain in Afghanistan any longer is an even bigger risk.

In order to make this happen, funds are needed to purchase the necessary documents, visas and transportation arrangements. I am asking for your help in making this happen.
