Afghan Family Needs Our Community's Help

Newmarket Together is a committee created by concerned community members of Newmarket, St. Paul’s Anglican Church , Trinity United on Main, and Anglican United Refugee Alliance. Newmarket Together has the urgent and collective goal of sponsoring a lovely family which has recently been able to flee Afghanistan.

 

Newmarket Together’s chosen family has escaped from Afghanistan and is currently in Delhi, India. Our goal is to bring this desperate family to Newmarket, where a brother is waiting to provide safety, comfort, housing and support.

The family consists of a mom, a dad, and 3 young children. They were rapidly transported out of Afghanistan with none of their possessions, and are currently living in a refugee camp in India awaiting permission to enter Canada. This cannot happen until funds are raised to provide them with support, and until they have been cleared to come to Canada. Financial support will come from the broader community, but we are asking you to prayerfully consider helping this family.

Newmarket Together also shares the belief that Newmarket, being the wonderful Town that it is, will also be a welcoming and supportive community in which to settle.
