Taliban in Afghanistan

The Taliban forces took power in Afghanistan on August 15, 2021. Afghans have not forgotten about the suffocating conditions during their last reign. Many have already reported summary killings by the Taliban as fighters perform door-to-door searches throughout Kabul city for collaborators. Some Afghans are not taking chances and have fled the country often with just a suitcase in hand.

Canadian Program

Canada has announced the resettlement of up to 20,000 vulnerable Afghan nationals to Canada. This will be done through special immigration programs. These refugees have already started to arrive in Canada with barely anything to call their own.

Refugee Resettlement

As Canadians, we are extremely lucky and enjoy a comfortable life for the most part.  As a former refugee myself, I can not tell you how much community support matters. With the right support, I have first hand witnessed refugees thrive and become independent in a very short period of time. 

We have many volunteers from the Afghan and other communities in Canada ready to help resettle these families. We can't do it alone. 

This campaign is in partnership with Children Without Borders (CWB) and the Canadian-Afghan Lawyers Association (CALA). 

Use of Funds

The funds will all be used for the following:
-Gift cards to various stores
-Clothing
-Furniture
-Over the counter medication
-Food
-School supplies, Books and toys for kids
-Cover administrative associated with refugee application processing  
-Any other use to help families be comfortable
