Afghanistan War Memory Wall
Donation protected
A veteran of the war in Afghanistan (Ron White) took 1 year to memorize all the US military fallen from the war. He memorized their rank, first name, last name in order of their death. (Over 2,300 people)
He travels the USA writing these names on a wall from memory to day, 'You are not forgotten.' It's a moving tribute to remember our heroes.
If you'd like to be a part of honoring these heroes please make a donation to keep this going. Without help this project stops.
This is a traveling wall where the fallen US military from the war in Afghanistan are honored and remembered.
Imagine watching the Vietnam Wall be created right in front of your eyes from memory of the one writing it. That is what this tribute is (except Afghanistan).
It took 1 year to memorize the wall and it takes 11 hours to write it out each time.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
1. It's been said that the nation that forgets it's heroes will also soon be forgotten.
2. The families often feel like the nation has gone and and forgotten their loved one. This wall says, 'We remember.'
3. It has been said that everyone dies 2 deaths. The death when they breath their last breath and another when no one speaks their name again. This wall keeps their memory alive.
4. They earned being remembered. It's a small price we should effortlessly and gladly pay.
WHY DO WE NEED TO RAISE MONEY?
This wall can’t continue if my bank account is our only source. I've exhausted my personal resources over the last 5 years. This is where your money will go:
1. Repair and replace wall $12,500
2. Additional panels for new names $2,000
3. A new trailer to fit the larger wall $3500
4. Gas and hotel and gas cost traveling the USA $$$
5. New vehicle (sturdy truck) specifically for the wall
6. The gas sometimes can be $1000 for a round trip trip
7. Until we get a truck, every trip requires me to rent a truck at $150 a day
There is so much and I am a 1 man show. If you join my team with your pledge, we can continue this TOGETHER. But without your help the wall sadly is a memorial wall that has ended.
