Help Build Tomorrow (HBT) is launching a crucial winter campaign to support the most vulnerable populations in Afghanistan, where harsh winter conditions threaten the lives of countless families with many children. With over 97% of the population living below the poverty line, this winter presents an even greater challenge, as many lack basic necessities to stay warm and safe. Our dedicated team on the ground conducts thorough assessments to identify the most vulnerable families, assign them a Kindness Cards so donors can track their donations, ensuring that assistance reaches those who need it most.

Unfortunately, our assessments reveal a heartbreaking reality: the majority of families in these vulnerable communities earn less than 100 Afghanis a day, which is roughly equivalent to just $1.50. This meager income is not nearly enough to cover even the most basic necessities. Imagine a parent trying to provide for their children on such a limited budget—struggling to afford food, clothing, and shelter while facing the bitter cold of winter.

For many, this means making impossible choices: should they buy a meal or save what little they have for fuel to keep their home warm? These families are not just surviving; they are fighting for their very existence, and every day is a battle against hunger and despair.

The Urgent Need

This winter, we aim to provide 500 jackets for children in various cold provinces across Afghanistan. These jackets will not only keep them warm but also instill a sense of hope and care during these challenging times. In addition to clothing, we plan to distribute coal, firewood, and blankets to families in need. These essential resources will help families heat their homes and survive the bitter cold.
