Album Fund: Afrobeat Forever - N&OP
Donation protected
My name is Najite Agindotan. When my father passed in 1991, my mentor Fela Anikulapo Kuti, the creator of the Afro-Beat music genre, took me as a spiritual god son. After he died in 1997 I vowed to carry on the Afro-Beat music that he fought so hard to have accepted and established as a music genre. Afro-Beat is a dance music, rooted in Funk, and fueled by traditional African rhythms as well as Jazz. It was created to help empower those who are oppressed and in need. My sons and I are currently producing our new album "AfroBeat Ti Ti Ayeraye" in July to be released in August. The album is a call for peace that continues the legacy of Fela, addressing the crucial social/political issues of our time with through new original afrobeat songs written by myself and my sons Onome and Metebrafor. The album will be released at our annual Fela Kuti Day celebration on August 27th, the anniversary of Fela's passage to the ancestral land. We need funds in order to record and produce the album. Your donation will go towards paying recording costs (i.e. studio time and some of the artists' recording fees), mixing and mastering the album, and any other post production costs (album art, product manufacturing, etc). We are very greatful to all those who help by condtributing, and we are offering the following gifts to those who help:
