After 104 days on the run Willy needs your help

Hi, my name is Jo and I am trying to raise funds to help this in the boy's recovery. Let me tell you a bit about Willy.

Willy was an x breeder Poodle x who escaped his new home after 22hrs in Tamworth. Being new to the area this scared, frightened boy bolted.

At first, the sightings were sporadic with no clear pattern. When he was sighted, because of how timid he was, he simply bolted. Then a picture of him hiding in the local golf course was placed on facebook which brought him to the attention of our Search and Trap group. With another lady, Sue, we decided to bring this boy in.

With help from some wonderful community members a plan was devised which included feed stations and constant monitoring of facebook and his movements.

For the next 6 weeks, sightings of Willy were reported all over Tamworth. We then tracked him to a smaller area of South Tamworth and stepped up the feed stations to keep him there and a Missy Trap was set for him.

Through more awareness within the community, sightings became more frequent and we knew we were close to trapping him.

On 24th September at 1:56PM Willy finally walked into the Missy Trap, ending his 104 days on the run.

Willy had survived freezing weather, flooding rains, terrifying fireworks and well meaning people trying to grab him.

He is now in care and starts his long road to recovery and needs your help.

On initial assessment, it was found Will had maggots coming out of a wound on his stomach and on his rear end. He also had other puss covered sores and rub marks. He also has burrs in his feet requiring a general anesthetic to be removed.

The funds will be used for all his immediate medical expenses, a special recovery diet to counter refeeding syndrome as well as escape proof harness, martingale collar (escape proof) and ongoing medical needs.

This special boy is going to need a lot of care and these funds will go a long way to help.
