After-Care Blessing for Sherri Scarborough

The friends of Sherri Scarborough (pictured on left) are coming together to show her a little "after-care" blessing. 20 years ago, Sherri left a successful career and came home to Surfside, SC, to move in with and care for her parents, who were seniors but pastoring a church. Peggy was also an author and speaker and prayer event coordinator. As her parents continued to age and began to experience health issues, Sherri found it necessary to leave full-time employment and just serve as their caregiver and personal assistant.

Pastor Neigel Scarborough, her father, passed away in 2020, and on Easter Sunday of 2023, Peggy, her mother, went home to be with the Lord. Remarkably, in their 80's, the Scarboroughs had continued to serve in a pastoral capacity; for 20 years, Sherri has served as the worship leader at the church. Sherri helped her mother maintain the pace in spite of Peggy recovering from a stroke and in need of ongoing physical therapy. Those of us who knew this family, know that Sherri has given herself totally to a labor of love in caring for her father and mother, with no regret for putting her future plans on hold.

Now that her parents are both in heaven, Sherri will need to regroup, handle her parents' final affairs, and shift focus back to her own life goals; but first, she will hopefully have just a few days to rest and decompress from a very long season of putting others' needs ahead of her own.

We want to make it possible to give Sherri a head start in getting back on her feet. Any gifts to bless Sherri now that her role of caregiver is finished would be much appreciated--and she may use the money however it is most needed. Whether she goes on her first vacation in years, or puts the money toward a car, or home repair, or whatever, it's our way of saying to Sherri, "We appreciate the stellar way in which you have honored your parents. You deserve to go into a new chapter of life with your own needs taken care of."
