Heather’s life following double transplant.

Hello everyone , I’m Rudi Fullard and my daughter Heather has under gone a double lung transplant UF Health Gainesville Fl, on 4/22/24. She was born with Cystic Fibrosis which is a life long genetic disorder that affects many organs . She is 28 years old and has had enumerable surgeries & procedures to prolong her life . In January of this year , although she had the flu shot she contracted 2 strands of Influenza , as well as another respiratory virus . This sent her into total respiratory failure and destroyed her lungs . Lung transplant was the only option to save her . The cost of post transplant care is very expensive which includes having to live here during recovery . Funding raised here will off set those expenses as even in the years to come there will likely be unpredictable trips back here that will require overnight stays.
