After the Flood: Help needed for the Ramos Family
Donation protected
On Monday, June 9th 2023, record-setting torrential rains led to waterways all over Vermont overflowing their banks. The resulting flash floods left devastation I'm their wake and did untold amounts of damage. One of the most heavily flooded areas in our slice of Southern Vermont was Gassetts, where the river overflowed its banks in a flash flood that posed an imminent threat to the life and property of the residents. This is also where the home and farm of the 13 member Ramos family reside.
On the day of the flood, Nancy, Lorenzo and their 8 children were faced with a harrowing ordeal as the waters rose across the lawn, and ultimately all the way to the house.
The Ramos family were fortunately able to escape this potentially lethal situation, but their home and property received catastrophic flood damage from the destructive waters that surged out of the river, washing out roads, trapping people in their homes and vehicles, and ultimately ravaging their peaceful home.
This is a kind, caring, accepting, and wonderful family that deserve so much better than what nature did to them on that day.
The damage done is immense and their needs will include the services of plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and many other services as they attempt to rebuild their home and take back their lives from this disaster. In addition to that has been listed, they are going to need volunteers to help them clean up the property, hay for their surviving animals, food, water, and help rebuilding the fences and pens on their farm. The cost of all of this will be immense in terms of both time and money, and there is no way for them to accomplish all of this without your help.
This family is dealing with so much right now as they are without electricity or running water, and are unable currently to do so very many everyday things that people take for granted.
Please consider donating to this cause and helping Nancy, Lorenzo, and their children to make it through this crisis to the other side.
