Afton Norah Whitehead

Hi, my name is Candace Simpkins-Penton. I offered to create this GoFundMe for Vanessa and Thomas to help them not worry about bills while they process the biggest loss that can ever happen.

Many of you know the story of the miracle baby Afton Norah. (She was named after her grandmother) Vanessa and Thomas had 10 miscarriages and Afton was born at 24 weeks, 1lb 7oz. She beat all odds and became a powerful toddler that was the world for her loving parents. Unfortunately, Afton passed away in her parents loving arms after a huge battle and many surgeries due to hydrocephalus.

Her dad Thomas, made the choice to be a full-time caregiver and had an incredible bond with his miracle baby. He worked so hard to try to communicate and created a special bond that most parents never get with a child.

Her mom Vanessa, worked to provide health insurance. She doted on Afton, she was her world. Vanessa had worked hard and helped Afton to communicate with mommy and daddy. She was so happy to love her greatest achievement of being the mommy of the most wonderful daughter.

I would love to help them with any medical bills, funeral services, and money to cover the bills in their home so they can process the loss of sweet Afton. They deserve to be home as long as they need, they deserve a vacation to process. I do not want them to worry about anything besides healing.

When a parent dies, you are called an orphan. When a spouse dies, you are a widow/er. But there is not a word in the English language when you have a loss of a child. Because there is no word that could be used for that pain. A parent shouldn't ever have this loss. My wonderful friends have had 11 losses. So please share this. Donate $1 if that's all you have.
