Lawyer Fees

As you all know, I have been in a very long and draining legal battle with my ex. Covid has drawn out the process for months, plus for six months, we couldn't locate him to serve him divorce papers. This means since January of 2021 when he was removed by police, I have had no financial assistance, child support, anything from him. I have been trying my hardest to keep pushing forward and providing for my kids the best I can with zero financial assistance from their father or his family. There is an Order of Protection against him due to his history of domestic violence, DCS found him guilty of child abuse and neglect, he was convicted of three different charges regarding endangering me and the kids last year, the list goes on. My boyfriend has been doing what he can to help my family, but his options are limited since he is long distance. I have been doing all I can as a disabled mom, working my hardest to make money where and when I can, but everything is just more and more expensive by the day, and I am running out of options. My kid are afraid of seeing their father again for many good reasons. I need to keep them safe.

I spoke to a lawyer, I have one lined up and he's one of the best in the state, he's very confident in getting me the results we need, but I'm barely scraping by and I need funds for this lawyer to keep my kids safe. There is a $2500 deposit for ten hours of work, but it's going to need an additional ten for sure, plus possibly more beyond that.

We just want to be free. That's it. I'm trying so hard, I've been trying my hardest this whole time. All my money each month goes to keeping my family afloat, safe, happy, and healthy. I have had to start a new online shop, I have been selling shirts and other handmade items as much as I can pump out, but I need this lawyer badly.

Any extra funds are going to go towards getting the kids and I back on our feet. Our goal is to relocate to a stronger support system out of state, but I can't make that happen until I have legal permission and full custody.
