New Orleans Cultural Giant Pat Jolly Could Lose Her Home Unless We Help NOW! Let's not let this happen to a fervent supporter of the city’s unique heritage!
All donations are tax deductible through Musicians for Music, a non-profit organization.

When her mother died three years ago, Pat inherited the house they lived in together for thirty years.
The City promptly raised her property tax to $8,000 per year, a ten-fold increase!

Although through two appeals her property tax was lowered,
Pat Jolly needs to pay the Tax Liens on her property or she could lose her house.

A mortgage company stands ready to take ownership at the end of the year if not thwarted!

Pat is 70 years old and lives on Social Security and a meager income as a photographer.

Moving from her home with all its collections and memorabilia from five generations of New Orleanians would just kill her, I know.

Pat Jolly deserves our help at this critical time BECAUSE of HER SELFLESS SERVICE to, and expertise in, grassroots community outreach and her DECADES of volunteer work on behalf of nonprofits like the music station WWOZ, the New Orleans Musicians Clinic, the Louisiana Jazz Federation, LadyFest, New Orleans Women in Music and many more.

She is and has been one of the Most proactive advocates for the culture and heritage of New Orleans,
passionate about helping artists and musicians these many, many years and her mother before her.

Her mother, Honey, was an invalid and blind the last twenty years of her life. Pat was right there, caring for her.

Pat Jolly's life has been dedicated to art, culture, and music, not looking for much monetarily for herself.

Let’s not let her world come crashing down!

SOME OF PAT'S MANY RECOGNITIONS:

*The Cutting Edge Music Business Conference honored her with their Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016. 
*Offbeat Magazine presented her with their Heartbeat Lifetime Achievement Award during the Best of the Beat Award Ceremony in 2014.
* Pat received a Michalopoulos Pirouette Award for her service to the Arts in 2012.
*The Contemporary Arts Center recognized her as their SweetART in 2005.

In the ‘80s, she self-published a weekly music calendar, later produced for six years
by the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation. This evolved into a free community email service that continues to this day.

Pat has been volunteering her time for THIRTY YEARS to benefit the community!
She has hooked up hundreds of New Orleans musicians with festival gigs and organized numerous photography and art exhibitions.

As one of the first DJs for WWOZ community radio, she created the first show that interviewed musicians about their performances and lives, featuring their original compositions.

Pat volunteered for the New Orleans Musicians Clinic after Hurricane Katrina setting up weekly gigs and finding housing for musicians.

For ten years in the past she produced Jazz Awareness Month with performances, educational seminars and video projects for the Louisiana Jazz Federation.

More recently Pat produced a six month long weekly free-admission film series about New Orleans culture and music.

Pat Jolly takes photos of New Orleans culture as a participant, not merely as an observer.

Her work reflects her immersion in the boisterous, mysterious character of local New Orleans life, and the music, costuming and processional traditions that define our city's culture of theatricality and masquerade.

For decades, Pat's photos have been featured in exhibitions, music albums and CDs, books, magazines and websites.

Pat has been on intimate terms with so many for so long. Her photo collection is of unique value to our community and deserving of preservation.

If we exceed our goal there are future taxes AND: Her vision is for digitizing her photo collection and making it an easily accessible community resource which will be invaluable for future generations of scholars, journalists, documentarians and educators craving real slices of New Orleans life.
