Help Us Share the Untold Story of Black Women in U.S. Soccer
"Against the Run of Play" is a powerful new documentary that finally gives voice to the incredible, untold history of Black women in U.S. soccer athletes who have shaped the sport for decades but have rarely received the recognition they deserve. From trailblazers like Briana Scurry to current stars such as Midge Purce and Crystal Dunn, this film highlights the brilliance, struggles, and cultural impact of Black women who’ve changed the game both on and off the field.
We’re thrilled to share that an award-winning director is now attached to the project, and some of the biggest names in U.S. soccer are coming on board to lend their voices and stories. This is more than a film. It's a moment of long-overdue recognition, and your support can help bring it to life.
Why This Documentary Matters
Throughout sports history, the stories of Black women have been sidelined, erased, or ignored. As soccer continues to rise in the U.S., these women have had to fight for visibility, opportunity, and respect within the game.
"Against the Run of Play" is a rallying cry for equity in sports. A cinematic tribute to the resilience and excellence.
This isn’t just about what’s happened in the past. It’s about shaping the future of the game.
