Sam and Marilee Agajanian, two of the most loving and giving people around, are in the midst of a medical emergency and need our help. Marilee has been suffering from virtually continuous (2-5 times daily) seizures over the course of the last two months and was recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's Encephalopathy, a very rare autoimmune disease. Marilee has been in and out of the hospital for the seziures as well as the injuries from falling, etc. during the episodes. On Saturday, May 30th, Marilee was left alone for just seconds, had another seizure, and she fell over the stair balcony at her home, falling 15 feet onto the tile floor below. She is extremely lucky to be alive, but has suffered multiple injuries including a broken tibia and fibula in her leg, two fractures in her back, and a number of other injuries including head trauma. She is being evaluated by neurologists and psychiatrists currently as she is not herself since the fall. She cannot carry a conversation or even write her name for that matter. We are praying that there is no permanent damage and Marilee will soon be her vibrant self again. Doctors have already perfromed one surgery on her leg and she will need at least two more. Doctors are currently evaluating the fractures in her back and will soon decide the extent of treatment (surgery, etc.) that will be required.
A number of family members and friends have reached out to see how they can help, so we thought we would start a fund where people can donate and help Sam and Marilee as they deal with this tragedy. Any support will go toward medical costs, gas and expenses for Sam to go back and forth from the hosptal, food and/or lodging if needed, and general support as Sam's will not be able to work full time through this process. Marilee will need his full support through the surgeries and physical therapy (which will be extensive), and 24 hour surveillance until the seziure episodes are cured. We are hoping that the right doctors will be in place to help Marilee recover, but based on the extent of her injuries and the different types of doctors and care that will be required it is very possible that Sam may need to seek medical care outside of what is covered by their insurance and this fund could help immensely.
As most of you know, Sam and Marilee have been married for over 32 years and are the most loving and giving people you would ever meet. They have given and helped friends and family over the years however possible and have loved and given unconditionally to so many, never expecting anything in return. Today Sam and Marilee are in a tough spot and finally need our help and prayers. More than anything, please keep Marilee in your prayers and pray for a speedy recovery and succesful treatment to allow her (and Sam) to continue living.
Thank you so much for reading and thank you in advance for your donations. Every little bit helps in tough times. Blessings and good health to you and your family.
