Help Support Monty

Hi everyone, I am fundraising to help support the Vetinary costs for our little boy Monty who was shot by an air rifle/gun at close quarters on Friday 16th September around 5-7am. He was shot in the neck and face which has obliterated his jaw and surrounding bones on the right hand side of the face.

He was rushed in to Two Rivers Vets where they supported him and done xrays. He was then rushed to the vetinary hospital in Livingston where our insurance has covered some care and his CT scan which showed that there was a lot more damaged than first thought. His teeth where all facing the wrong way. The pain he was in was unimaginable the vet stated. He is currently on a feeding tube.

The operation involved will hopefully help his jaw be able to heal and further to this he will need to see the vet again to have his cement and fitting removed and treated. This involves a very technical operation which has 8 weeks recovery with feeding tube present which would then give him a really good chance of carrying on his life to a great quality. As he is 2 years old they hope is his jaw can heal and this would allow him to eat, wash and be his normal self. There will more than likely be additional costs with the operation coming in at an estimated £2500. We have some separate additional costs for his 24/care at the moment that we are paying.

I know and understand we all live in desperately tough times but if you can spare anything at all to help Monty we would be forever grateful. He is loved dearly by my myself, my wife, Robyn 2 and Fearne 8. It has been a heartbreaking time to imagine why someone would feel the need to shoot a 2 year cat, I just cant get my hear around it all. 

Anything we are left with we will donate to the SSPCA who are leading the investigation into Monty’s incident. There will be a press release shortly with Monty’s story which I will share.

Monty has now thanks to your kindness had his first op to start to repair his face and jaw this afternoon 21/9/22. He is recovering ok so far and faces 24 hours in Itensive care to check the binding has worked ok and that there isnt any ideas. Please see my video update with more info ❤️
