Aggression Sessions: Spar 9

This year we’re fundraising for two amazing causes! Firstly, we are so excited to support ‘CoppaFeel!’, a charity promoting healthy breast-checking habits and raising awareness through education in schools, universities, festivals and so much more! Their work is a crucial step in the early detection of breast cancer and the money raised will aid ‘CoppaFeel!’ in empowering young people to know what is normal for them and to raise issues with doctors should changes occur. Secondly, we are supporting ‘Sport In Action Zambia’, a charity that promotes active, healthy, and better living for communities in Zambia through sport. ‘Sport In Action Zambia’ will use the money raised to develop sports infrastructure in schools and communities, facilitating development and building leadership skills among adolescent girls and young women.

Founded in 2014, Aggression Sessions has been one of the highlights of the social calendar year after year in Durham and has become the largest student-run charity boxing event in the UK. The event runs in February, where fighters compete in front of 2,000 people all bidding to be crowned Aggression Sessions champions. Training lasts for 5 months with weekly sessions alongside some of the toughest coaches in the English amateur association. 20 fighters. 10 fights. 5 champions.

The event is an incredible opportunity to see some fantastic walkouts, big tunes, gruelling brawls, and most importantly to raise money for two fantastic charities. With £52,000 raised for our two charities last year we want to go above and beyond this figure this time around!
