Agniezska Mastalerz (Agi) A fight for survival
Many on the island know the story of this amazing young lady but for those who do not in brief, Agi was diagnosed with cancer 5 years ago, in January this year she was told there is no more that can be done, and she should go to the Hospice to die.
Agi does not believe in the word give up, she believes why you are still alive there is always a chance! She spoke to many people to look at alternative ways to cure cancer and did her own research and found an amazing place in Mexico called the oasis Hospital, Oasis runs a 4-week alternative treatments plan, as its alternative medicine it was not covered by her insurance, so she managed to raise £33,000 to enable her to go to Mexico and take the course of treatment.
Agi was admitted to the Oasis Hospital on the 8th of March to start her 4-week course, as she has stage 4 cancer and potentially only had a few months left to live the treatment course was not easy for her, there were many complications during the course, but she made it until the end, unfortunately the money she raised has now all gone as it was spent on treating the various complications during the course.
Now this is the reason for this page, 2 days before she was due to leave hospital Agi was struggling to breath, after several tests and x-rays it was confirmed she has developed pneumonia, which meant she could not fly home to start her home treatment.
Unfortunately, due to Agis low immune system the pneumonia got bad quick and to give her the best chance of survival Oasis had to put Agi into an induced comma while she is treated for pneumonia.
Agi is currently in the intensive care unit at the oasis hospital, she could be in a comma for several days, there is a chance she will survive and there is a chance she will die its 50/50 right now.
If Agi is meant to die she should die from cancer she should not die from pneumonia, she has gone through the 4-week course and her body has everything it needs to beat her cancer, but she is being denied this chance because of the life threatening pneumonia she has contracted.
being in intensive care is expensive, and when she gets through this she will need to stay in hospital for an extended period until she is fit enough to fly home.
This page is to raise funds to help Agi through this vital time so she can get back to fighting cancer and giving inspiration to all those people out there that get told daily its games over, Agi cannot carry on with her fight without financial support.
Please help Agi fight until the end. (it is never over until its over)
