Aguillard and Foreman Hurricane Laura Relief
Donation protected
On August 27, 2020, Hurricane Laura, the strongest hurricane on record to make landfall in the US, destroyed the lives, homes, and businesses of many in SW Louisiana and the surrounding areas. Unfortunately, the Aguillard and Foreman families were not overlooked by Laura's path.
Kevin and Jessica (Aguillard) Foreman experienced great loss. They are the loving parents of 4 children, Hanson (19), Harper (7), Emilia (5), and Hunter, who is an adult. Hanson has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. He requires 24/7 care, a wheelchair, and a feeding tube. The Foreman's lost their home and all of their belongings. Kevin, Jessica, and their children are displaced and living with relatives for the time being. Like many, they were left with nothing in the aftermath of Laura. Kevin and Jessica are optimistic, as always, but are desperate to get their lives back and get their children, especially Hanson, into a stable household.
Jimmy and Mercedes Aguillard's farmhouse was dismantled. They built their home in 1976 and raised 8 children there. The roof and the second floor of their home were damaged, forcing them to move everything to the first floor. As with many, Jimmy and Mercedes did not have insurance. The second floor has been stripped and will require repair. You can read more about their story in The Advocate, written by Andrea Gallo in the link below.

Sal and Nicole (Aguillard) Messina's home was destroyed by fallen trees. Sal is a shift sergeant for patrol with the LA State Police. Sal and Nicolle were blessed with the help of the Samaritan's Purse US Disaster Relief team, who cleared trees from their home. You can hear more about their story and this family here:

Many residents of Lake Charles are hurting. The despair caused by Hurricane Laura is immeasurable and has hit this family especially hard. Please consider supporting the Foreman and Aguillard Families, as they have supported their community for many years. No amount is too little. If you are unable to give monetarily, please consider sharing this story with others. I will continue to give updates as they come. Most of this family is preoccupied with rebuilding. Please know they are most appreciative of each and every one of you who has reached out and helped.
If you know of additional resources that may be of help to his family, please reach out. GoFundMe is an amazing platform that has helped to rebuild the lives of many. However, if you are aware of additional resources that could be helpful, we would be happy to hear them.
Father, all the elements of nature obey your command.
Calm the storms and hurricanes that threaten us and turn our fear of your power into praise of your goodness.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever.
Amen.
