AGWAN KARARA COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Donation protected
Menōman Care Foundation is a non-governmental organization in Nigeria with the sole aim of reaching out to the people in rural communities to improve their health status and general well-being.

Agwan Karara is a rural settlement with more than 400 people in Nasarawa state, Nigeria. The community is located in close proximity to civilization but lacks government intervention. Our investigation reveals that they have one means of accessing portable water, which costs N250 for 20 liters of water. The other means is a contaminated stream from which they drink and do laundry. There is no power supply in the community.

Our aim is to provide a solar-powered borehole for this community with your support. Additionally, the community lacks healthcare amenities, so we aim to build a community laboratory where occupants can get blood tests done, such as genetic tests like blood group and genotype, as well as pathology tests like widal tests and routine labs. This is to reduce incompatibility and the occurrence of children being born with sickle cell anemia.
