"In December 2022, My family and I came to Chicago as a University of Chicago Scholar at Risk. I was a film and theatre faculty at Kabul University. The program and my income will end by December 2024. So far, I have delivered lectures, organized international seminars and published two poetry books. Although we have applied for asylum, until our work permit arrives, we will have no income. Please assist us with your contribution, so we can make ends meet until we are employed."
