Ahead Launch

Ahead is on a mission to bring equity, access, and opportunities to young Black girls in Chicago.

Our model is simple; we provide interactive day camps to girls ages 7-13 that teach empowerment and entrepreneurship through hair.

Our camps and workshops are hands-on, fun, and one-of-a-kind! Each session teaches girls a new hair-specific lesson, such as braiding, texture, the science of coils, blowouts, weaves, etc., coupled with a lesson on business practices such as branding, inventory, accounting, marketing, finance, etc.

We bring in Black and Brown women facilitators with business backgrounds during each session to guide conversations but most importantly to make sure our girls see themselves represented as future businesswomen. Ahead lessons are deeply rooted in self-love while also giving girls the freedom to explore and dream.

What started as a small passion project for an MBA class has now taken a life of its own and become my small business!
