Ahearn Army... we need you! For Cristie Ahearn

Many of you know me, but I'm Cristie's sister, Stacey, for those who don't. As most of

you know, Cristie was recently diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in her lung. Today was her first round of radiation, and her systemic treatment begins on Monday with chemotherapy. Once those treatments are completed, if all goes well, she should be a candidate for resection of shrunken cancer. It will be significant surgery involving a part of her thoracic wall outside of her lung, requiring two ribs to be removed.

With cancer comes a lot of debilitating pain, and Cristie is having her fair share already. The demanding schedule for visits to the doctors for testing, and now daily treatments are stretching our beloved Jason very thin! He's trying to maintain his support for Cristie throughout this journey, as well as continue to support his family financially. He is the man who takes care of his family and everyone else, but he is also very human and deserves a break to be there for his wife's battle without the worry of finances causing excessive stress. If you know Jason, you'd know that he'd work himself to the bone before asking for help. So I'm asking on their behalf because I know how much worse things will get for them before (God willing) they begin to get better! I know that Cristie will need Jason in so many ways once they get into the thick of this....and it's coming soon.

Cristie has spent more than her share of years caring for everyone around her! So much so that she neglected to take better care of herself. Jason and Cristie have opened their doors and hearts, inviting strangers into their family, always helping anyone in need. They have spent more than a quarter-century together, being there for each other's ups and downs.

Let us, family and friends, help them while they have this unforeseen life-stopping event happening to them. Let's lift their spirits a little by removing some of the burdens that await them through this battle.
