house fire

Hello my name is Summer Duthie . I am trying to raise funds for my in-laws who lost their home last Tuesday morning due to a house fire. The fire started around 3am. They were very lucky to get out safely due to the fire starting in the living room and they had to go through the living room to exit the home. When the smoke cleared they were informed that the home was a total loss. Even with the structure still standing the inside was basically gutted. My husband and I stood there watching his childhood home being destroyed. It was surreal, to say the least. As if starting over isn't daunting enough these folks are in their late seventies and eighties. My mother-in-law just returned home in mid-December after a six-month stint at the University of Salt Lake Hospital with severe brain trauma. The home was just remodeled for her so it had an ADA bathroom and wider doors. It looks like the woodstove might be the culprit, but we will know more this week when the fire inspector arrives. We have been in contact with insurance and have found a possible rental that is ADA-compliant until a new home can be built. Right now the rental is furnished with large items. but nothing smaller. We need your help to pay for items to replace all the basic items needed in a home like; cooking items, towels, bedding, computer, TV, and seasonal clothing items. Both people have major health problems and are struggling to understand how to move forward after this disaster. A lifetime of memories and family heirlooms destroyed would be difficult for anyone to understand, especially at this stage in life. Both of my inlaws have been part of this community for decades and need the support of our community right now. Please show them how you care.
