Help AHS Musicians Perform at Carnegie Hall
Donation protected
We need your help to get our talented AHS Choral Program and Honors Orchestra students to New York City to perform at Carnegie Hall in the Choirs of America "Nationals for Top Choirs" festival.
All AHS choral ensembles were accepted into the festival, and our honors orchestra was invited to perform the instrumental opening to the concert. Your donations will ensure that all students regardless of their financial situation will be able to attend and participate in this amazing experience!
This intensive two-day event is filled with high-level musical opportunities for students to work with many world-renowned conductors and musicians. Students will participate in workshops (including Broadway 101 with Broadway actors), an adjudication and clinic, rehearsals, and a final concert in a mass choir conducted by Dr. Anton Armstrong, conductor of the St. Olaf Choir.
The AHS Choirs and Honors Orchestra would perform one piece each on the final concert program, separate from the massed ensembles, and choral singers would additionally perform the world premieres of two new compositions by prominent African-American composers André Thomas (composer-in-residence) and Jeffrey Ames.
During the final day, students will have the opportunity to enjoy several NYC attractions and see a Broadway show following their two days of highly involved musical activities.
