Ghanaian Children School & Shelter Supplies
Donation protected
Hello, as most of you know, I've been in Ghana for 7weeks now, experiencing a very different life to the privileges back home, getting back to basics has been a wonderful, humble journey, that I have really enjoyed (minus the odd stomach bug )
Weekdays in the morning I teach in 2 schools, and in the afternoon/evening I work in a shelter (orphanage) helping with homework and playtime
The children are so resilient, kids are kids no matter where they are from, they laugh, cry, are cheeky, but most importantly they need love and attention. There have been many challenging times whereby I'd keep it together whilst with the kids but once alone would be quite upset and beyond grateful for the upbringing and love I was given my whole life.
So... here I am, looking for some help, if we can raise this €400, I propose getting the following;
School supplies - pencils/ pens / rubbers / sharpeners / whiteboard markers / copybooks / clocks (I was trying to teach the time last week, and there was not one clock in the whole school I could borrow for the lesson) / batteries /colours
Shelter -For 20euro we can sponsor a child in the shelter this will get them new shoes/clothes for church at Christmas and hopefully a little gift, it would be great to be able to sponsor 4/5 kids.
I know there is always a lot of fundraising going on, so the saying every little helps is so true, for c..70cent I can get 40 pencils in the market, money goes far here, so think what €5 can provide...
Many thanks for reading this far, if you can donate wonderful, and if not, that is fine too.
