My adopted brother!

Hi, I’m Beatriz, and after a devastating incident involving my mother—who has bipolar disorder—I had to step in and adopt my brother.

Since I live in the UK and he was in Brazil, the adoption process was anything but simple. He had to go into foster care, and finalizing everything took almost a year and nearly $13K in legal fees, visa costs, and other expenses.

After sharing our story on Threads, I received an overwhelming amount of support—along with many requests to open a fundraiser for my brother. So, here it is.

Every penny from this fundraiser will go exclusively toward Rafa’s needs—helping cover his initial setup, clothing, and, most importantly, his education.
