Aid Alan's Healing After Brutal Assault
Donation protected
Wednesday, October 16, my partner Alan was assaulted while taking a bike ride in Buffalo, NY. As he was riding in the protected bike lane along Niagara St, a speeding car driving in the bike lane nearly struck him, causing him to veer onto the curb to protect himself.
As he was gathering himself, the car stopped, and the driver then got out and assaulted Alan, throwing several punches and throwing his bike around. As he began to defend himself, the driver then pulled a knife, at which point Alan ran to the nearby storefront. As he pulled his bike into the store, the driver landed several more blows to his face.
Luckily, the ER visit showed no fractures to the face, but bruising and a laceration near the eye which was patched up. Unfortunately, the ambulance ride to the hospital, as well as the ER visit, CT scan, and bike repairs, are amounting to more than we can handle. As we explore our options and await justice for this random assault, we are asking for any help you may be able to give, in any amount, to help pay hospital and bike repair bills. Thank you.
