Aid Annie Patterson Rebuild After Wildfire Loss

Donation protected
Hello,

My name is Kendell Young, and I am the granddaughter of the amazing and loving Willie and Annie Patterson (Willie-deceased). I am currently a college student at Spelman College, and today, I’m reaching out to ask for your help on behalf of my Nana, who has recently experienced an unimaginable loss. She lost her home, as did my aunt and uncle, in the devastating Eaton Canyon Wildfire in Altadena, CA.

For 53 years, my grandparents made their home a haven for our entire family—a place filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. It was where we all gathered for holidays, celebrations, or just to spend time together. My own heart is filled with countless fond memories from within that home.

In January 1973, my Nana and Papa moved to Altadena after Papa’s service in the US Air Force. He went on to a 36+ year career at the US Postal Service, and my Nana continued her passion for teaching with the Pasadena Unified School District. For 32 years, 25 of those at Longfellow Elementary, she poured her heart into shaping the minds and futures of her students. She didn’t just teach—she mentored, tutored, and gave freely of her time and love to help others succeed.

For over three decades, Nana was a beacon of kindness and selflessness, and she impacted countless lives. Now, in the wake of this tragedy, it’s her turn to be supported. The wildfire took everything—her home, her memories, her belongings. But despite the overwhelming loss, she remains incredibly strong. Rebuilding her life will be a monumental challenge, and that's why we’re asking for your help.

Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping my Nana regain stability. Your generosity will not only help her physically, but it will also provide emotional strength, as she’s reminded of the deep love and gratitude that surrounds her.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, for your support, and for being part of the incredible community that has made Nana who she is. Together, we can help her start anew and show her that the love she’s given to so many will come back to her tenfold.

With love and gratitude,
